Itís confirmed, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reached a deal to acquire 25% of the club. As expected, INEOS to take charge of footballing operations.

Interested to take a temperature check on this and put our cards on the table.

Do you back the deal? Do you think itís going to be beneficial for the club? Or is it just propping up the Glazers?

Poll to follow.

Itís the start of the Glazers leaving. Itís a step in the right direction. All about Captain Jimís ship.

The arse seeing when he appoints Potter as manager with a free choice of any loan signings he wants is going to be immense.

All depends on whether he has the power to take full control in the medium term. Bearing in mind our future prospects under the Glazers and his extremely impressive record within industry Iím confident he wonít be a patsy

Christmas come early

Can't be a coincidence that article in the Athletic came out 2 days before it's announced as a done deal. Bringing the utter incompetence of how the football side of the club has been run over the past few years into the light.

They're is no way in hell that the club will be as ran as badly as it has been with him on the scene now. Whether that'll translate to better than what we're seeing now who knows. But I can't see how it'll be worse.

Sir Jim will provide a $300 million fund intended to enable future investment into the Clubís infrastructure at Old Trafford, comprising $200 million paid upon the closing of the transaction and a further $100 million by the end of 2024. Trawlers Limited will be issued additional Class A and Class B shares at $33.00 in respect of such investment.

Heís a United fan who tried to buy Chelsea. Local too.

People throwing weird slights against him whist conveniently ignoring that our supposed greatest manager of all time facilitated the glazer take over.

I think he will be good for the club. He certainly canít be any worse than the glazers and the mess gill and Fergie left for us.

I know.

The smiley may have indicated I wasn't entirely serious (indeed, was satirising some of the anti-SJR people on here)

Hold on. Just watching BBC News and their reporter outside the ground has said the first thing that will happen will be a £200 investment in the ground. Donít think that will even get the ladders to fix the roof.

I don't believe it will solve the issues we've got and l'd like to hear from Ratcliffe on the difference he believes he'll make to arrest the decline of MUFC. How will that be measured?
