Default How much would Messi cost?

We should stop £#%&!ing about and just buy this guy, he'll cause us all sorts of trouble over the next 15 years if we don't.

I think it's basically impossible to buy him. Great talent though.

you have got to be talking the sorts of figures we'd quote for Ronnie then a bit more.

We'd need to offer them Ronaldo plus 10 mill to even make them think about it.

He must know he's keeping them afloat. Come and win some trophies Lionel, ask your mate Carlos how fantastic it is at United.

He's been there since he was 14 or summat, it's like home to him. Also there's no way Barca would sell him.

If we bought him and a young right back we wouldn't have to spend any money on transfers for the next 3 years

Won't happen though

I;d probably do a sex wee if we started next season wit a front 4 of Messi, Tevez, Park and Rooney

He would be hugey loyal to them, considering the chance barcelona took on him as a kid with his medical situation.

The only hope would be if Mourinho went there.

He is the best dribbler in the game by some distance. What a player.

He's quality.

Had a better game than Ronnie. Should win worlds player next season if he doesn't get injured.

Which is an issue with him, he's a frail kid who's been artificially built up at a very young age. i'd worry about his future in terms of injury 'cos of this.

OK so we agree he's good and would do a good job for us. Bearing in mind some players are hit and miss and he wouldn't be, how much should we spend on him? Personally I think Rio has proved a good deal at £30M as it's enabled us to not worry about 1 position for 10 years, Messi would be cheap at £50M. If this means no new strikers for 3 years, so be it.

He'd cost more than that. much more. Figo cost £40 million and that was nearly 10 years ago.

You're logic is good

Probalem is that we wouldn't get him for £50M

If we signed him and get the Tevez and Manucho deals sorted i'm sure we wouldn't have to sign an attacking player for a good 5 years
