I’m generally a fan, but I’m up to here (points to NEARLY the whole top of the head) with him.

He simply shouldn’t be starting games when he’s playing like this for so long. It’s not fair on the others players and we’re not a £#%&!ing a charity.

The worst part is that you could weirdly see it coming. Maybe not a win, but all this stuff about shock of the season... is it? You know we start badly, we don’t do well against teams that sit back and we have a dreadful habit of believing our own hype and being complacent when it really matters. We should have been guarding against it all week. We should have been bang on it from minute one, but as usual, it’s the standard slow start with some nice sideways passing and no intent, littered with lazy defending and idiotic fouls.

We are improving and tonight doesn’t take away from that, but it was certainly a reality check and it featured all our bad habits.

Last season was his best and this season was a chance to kick on. Ole likes him and that front slot up front was his.

A bit of leeway for a slow start, but that’s long gone now. When a new signing comes in and challenges, it’s fight or flight. Shaw has risen to the challenge of Telles being here and made that spot his own. Martial should be displaying the same attitude, but if he’s going to saunter back after giving the ball away yet again, at a crucial stage of a crucial match, he really have no excuses and no friends left.
