Martial is shit....couldn't finish a free hooker, lazy, doesn't move off the ball as the CF and never looks to run in behind

Rashford runs into too many blind alleys on the dribble and looks knackered....hopefully the 5 days rest will do him a bit of good

part of this is because Ole should have given these guys a break in rotation using James and Mata for a few of these matches

Moyes....that is how he made United look during his spell other than the lack of 800 crosses in the box because they didn't try to attack very often. Playing for penalties in the FA Cup? where's the magic in that?

It's going to be a huge test of Ole's managerial skills to navigate the work load of these guys with games in three different competitions over the next month of fixtures

I take it there will be EL and FA Cup games to fit into March should we progress? Brutal.

more than likely where you see those week long breaks but they weren't on the fixture list as TBD ....

that's 8 matches in 5 weeks not including FA Cup which we know will be in there and possibly EL.....

i think with what we saw last night from our attacking guys....Ole needs to find somewhere to give these lads a bit of a break and it might just have to be the EL matches

Bobby Charlton agrees with this

Whilst reffing the Subbuteo World Cup Final in the 1970s he was appalled to find that the Italian team were playing for a nil nil in order to take it to penalties

Absolutely broken by what the Italians had done to the beautiful game by all accounts

Not sure if the above post is serious or taking the proverbial, but I'm certainly old enough to remember Argentina making this their gameplan in the 1990 WC. Still haven't forgiven them.

Might have something to do with the fact their best player was routinely assaulted and they were missing a number of players in the final

As can be attested by Italy and (of fond-ish memory) Yugoslavia, they didn't just do it in the final.

Maradona won the cup for them in 1986, that was surely enough to mark out his greatness.

No, the competition would have been better if Argentina hadn't produced their one truly good bit of football for the whole event in the last 16 - and thus Brazil had knocked them out.

Soz.

100% true . He talks candidly about it on one his old VHS bios

Turned his back on Subbuteo after that and helped form the breakaway Casdon Super League

Incidentally the sons of the Casdon Soccer Empire went on to form one of the early Factory Records bands - Section 25

Worlds within worlds

Yes, if there's one thing you can't level at the Argentinians, it's cynical violence and thuggery.

alternatively, we'd have won it in 86 and probably retained it in 1990.

If Robbo’s shoulder hadn’t popped at West Ham, United and England could easily have both been champions in 86.
