Fantastic ball and a great goal.

Interestingly, the second commentator scored a better one himself, against City no less:

I'm not sure what the best thing about that video is:

1. the goal
2. the commentator asking you to "watch this exciting volley shot"
3. the cheerleaders
4. a befuddled Grimson conceding because he was eying #3

I'm not THAT old.

The "Watch these exciting volley shots" is hilarious. It isn't the match commentators though, it's a voice over. This is from a video the NASL produced and sent to schools in the 70s to educate kids about the game.

Hi, I'm Troy McClure.

You might remember me from such educational soccer films as 'Gary the incredible goalkeeper' and 'Gee, was that goal offside?'

£#%&! me that takes me back. That was the show that started out with the skier going face-first into a jump right?

I would prefer commentary like that over ESPN's attempt at announcing football as if it were hockey.

'Veron was shit'

I don't think it was as simple as that. You could see the skill the guy had, but he just looked lost in England.

And I'd hardly say Tevez has proved himself yet.
