Confidence can go a long way in this league these days.
Any good team getting a bit of momentum quickly look untouchable. Even we managed a big run last year directly after being dead on our arse. The longer this Liverpool run goes, it's making the league look worse. Emphasised by games where they lose in the champions league. Their run is crazy, but you don't look at them and think this is something we've never seen before. They'll level out, like City have done. |

They aren't leveling off any time soon. They're getting better if anything. |

I wonder if they’ll cash in on Salah in the summer and reinvest it in Werner/Sancho? |

They wont level out? So they'll do this again next season? 1 draw all campaign? 2 draws in 2 seasons? Unlikely. By 'level out', I mean more like what's happened to City. They were doing this as recently as a year ago and once they weren't riding that wave, we saw their real level. Still very high, but not the crazy heights the 102 points season suggested. |

They need challenging - a few teams to draw and beat them.
Man for man, they are not one of the great sides by any stretch of the imagination. Their level of performance, consistency and ability to win are great but there is nothing particularly special or dazzling about how they play as a team. City played a far higher level of football in recent years, which isn't much consolation. What's happening with them reminds me of the Arsenal side at the start of the century. Too many teams buying into the hype, beaten before they take the field. £#%&!ing disgusts me, to be honest. |

Their very best is still not as good as City's IMO. Their spirit is excellent though....and that gives teams the 'beaten before they've walked out' feel and so on it goes. They will be challenged more next season, even just by a bit of misfortune, then the league's eyes will light up. It happened to City this season. They battered spurs in that 2-2 draw, but didnt win. Teams saw a bit of vulnerability and Norwich came at them with the confidence (and perhaps a bit of naivety) of a team that had just won the championship. Suddenly, they've lost and everyone is saying 'they're vulnerable at near post corners'. The air of invincibility went, liverpool didnt let up and they buckled. They're still comfortably the second best team in the league their level remains high, but it's not what it was or appeared to be. And all it took was a little nudge. Liverpool will canter to this league and be rightful favourites next season, but they'll face different challenges and how they react will determine just how special this team is. |
