I haven’t seen much of this kid but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re not wondering why we didn’t upgrade on Martial, especially as we could probably have gotten a cash surplus.

That said, the way he was showing his garter to the scousers, £#%&! him.

Chelsea stunned the whole of Europe on Thursday evening, when their capture of Timo Werner was all but confirmed.

Both the Blues and Manchester United had been cited in having an interest in the forward, but there seemed to be an underlying expectation that the 24-year-old would choose Liverpool.

As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano though, Werner is set to sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. The news was criticised by many United fans, particularly given the fact that the deal will cost just €55m – a fair price for such a talented figure.

The Athletic have, however, given an insight into why the Red Devils did not push all the way for the RB Leipzig star. They claim that the club were only willing to trigger Werner’s release clause, should they have found a buyer for Paul Pogba.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer actually met with the striker back in February, and the player’s representatives contacted United when Liverpool pulled out of the deal.

Without the sale of Pogba though, it seems as though funds weren’t attainable, for a position that is not being prioritised this summer. Odion Ighalo’s loan extension has seemingly downplayed the need for a new permanent striker, with emphasis being placed on recruiting a right-winger and central midfielder instead
No signings this summer. TWICI.

Ready made excuses really with the pandemic. Expect City to spend like nothing's wrong, Chelsea have money ready to go from a year's ban.

The rest will have to struggle on.
