Honestly don’t think he’d get a game for any other club in england tbh.
You are never knowingly understated on this topic, tbf

this league is increasingly geared towards aggression, pressing and speed nowadays and he looks lost at times.

He was a great player 5 years ago, but he's not there any more. Was never the quickest but he's beyond slow now and is a liability in midfield.

Ole rates him highly so can't pin that on Woodward.

I really like Mata -good pro, great attitude, knows the game inside out and more creativity in his prime than our entire front line combined - but he’s finished as a top class athlete. What were his weak spots are now pretty much his entire CV.

I love Mata, but you're right, he's no longer anywhere near good enough. He must be the slowest moving human on earth. Even Laurent Blanc would've had him.

I don't rate him but he'd probably hit double figures in both goals and assists if he was playing for city.

He'd be perfect for mid-80s Serie A.

Pep would never pick him on his pace alone.

His prime was never at United.

We have too many players with a "good attitude" who are **** at football.

Their attitude is good because no one else would be stupid enough to pay them what we do.

He wishes

He's just not good enough anymore at this level, and it shows even more in the setup Ole's employing now where he want's the whole team to run and press for 90 minutes. He's just not capable. He needs to play at a level where he can just walk around the pitch and have more time on the ball. He isn't going to get that here and he's going to be shown up when he plays from now on.
