Must be a good sign given how often the forum has been wrong over the past 6 years.

This. I think there’s a good case for appointing a rookie manager like Ole - nothing else has worked so far - but you have to then surround him with experience and quality. This was a key appointment and we’ve absolutely United’ed it.

£#%&!ing state.

If the Phelan rumours are true then it just goes to show how inept Ed Woodward and Joel Glazer are at running a football club. You would think that give the last 6 years they would realise that we are in desperate need of an experienced DOF. Go out and get the best there is, sacrifice a player signing to splash the cash on the best there is to get them to the club.

Look at City, they quickly realised how crucial this role was to running a successful football club and went and got Txiki from Barcelona, they haven't looked back since. Us on the other hand are thinking about giving the job to a guy with 6 months experience in Australia!

He's one of the few names linked that actually sounds like an idea. He's held that role elsewhere I think.

Imagine we'd got him on board six years ago when he dad was still around to give tips. Where would we be now

Is it better than what we currently have? Check.
Would there be harmony with the manager/coaching staff? Check.
Does the man have experience of building and coaching the most successful team in the country’s history? Check.
Does he look like a potato? Check.

I have no idea whether it would work or not tbh; just trying to provide a counter balance to the hysteria.

Queiroz left and presumably Phelan then had more responsibility. And United went from being one of the most tactically versatile teams in Europe to ...

We're Moyseing it again

Edwin does the job at Ajax. Under him they're in the CL last four. Bring him home
