Default Team Britain Vs Argentina

Will there be a new conflict over the falklands and if so will it be acceptable to bomb Argentinian cities ? By the sounds of it there's a whole lot oil round those there shores, and it's only right that it should stay in British hands!

I think that's only Argentines and not Falklanders (?) themselves.

I give it 2 more posts before you mention a certain person..

Aren't we too busy fighting for America's oil?
Would the oil revenue in the Falklands match up againmst the monetary cost of a war?
When the body bags start coming back to Wooton basset by the truck load will the profits be seen as bloody money? Those villagers will be £#%&!ing busy.

I'm gonna kick off in the Gaucho Grill if we do go to war with the Argies. Only after I've had a steak and a coupla bottles of their excellent Malbec mind.

My girlfriend lived in the Falklands growing up, and her dad still lives there. True story.

a) A North Sea oil and gas exploration rig is on its way from Scotland to the North Falkland Basin to explore reserves. Scientists believe that the territory could have up to 60 billion barrels of oil underneath its coastal waters.

b) Cost of a barrel of oil $77.01.

c) 60 Billion Barrels (if the sceinetists are correct) X $77.01 per barrel = $4620600000000 .

I don't think beating the Argies will cost that much at all.

So if we lost say 1000 men, and the conflict cost us 60 Billion that would £40 million pounds a man. Can't see the government backing down on that one then. Would be a vote winner too, The Falklnads wins anotehr election for a lame duck PM.
Let's not have the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the body count mounts up though eh? If you fight a war for money you can't grumble when people start shooting back.
