our last three managers
moyes came in and was an absolute £#%&!ing moyes.
van gaal was a total van gaal. now mourinho is being a complete 100% tossing mourinho. wow. I mean... I hoped mourinho would change. anyone think if we hired a leopard, it would eat the £#%&!ing youth team? |

Moyes was always shit.
Van Gaal was retiring, needed the money & delegated every conceivable facet of the job to subordinates then proceeded to play the worst football seen at United in decades. £#%&! him. Mourinho has made some shit decisions, and he's consistently worked under a requirement of "instant success" being essential given his previous roles. United need rebuilding & whether he does change his spots with time, job security & some further success only time will tell. Personally I have always thought he'd just do what he does, be here for three years - next season is likely to be a big one for us after further investment & then he'll truly implode. We'll end up with a far, far better squad than when he took over though & hopefully the club is taking care of the academy for the coming seasons. It's never, ever going to be like Fergie again. We're just like everyone else now. |

He might be out of the door by then obviously if the last few months are anything to go by but there are recent blueprints to show his expected progression. |

The board have made a complete balls up of appointing a successor to Ferguson.
The three main pillars of the United way have been the highest standards, attacking football and opportunities to youth. Moyes lowered our standards. Van Gaal destroyed the attacking football. Mourinho sold out the youth. The United way is in ruin as we head toward Chelsea 2.0 All we needed was to hire a manager with the same characteristics as Ferguson. |

Why do you think that then? Stop holding on to the past gav |

The death knell of the United way. You should start learning about the methods behind reanimation. Once Ferguson is dead you can bring him back to eternal life and have your way. He was one of a kind and you need to let that go. |

If you think we've had a poor season with a new manager who took on a largely dogshit squad, I can't help. |

The last 2 months or so has felt like a huge blow to be honest. Out of contention for top 4, scraping through to the Europa final and out of the FA Cup.
Before then I was pretty happy, December-Februrary we were doing well. We were winning, playing pretty well and looked like it was all starting to click. I think the FA Cup match set us back a bit mentally and then Swansea was an even bigger set back. Since then it's been pretty awful, especially the last two matches. It's hard to see where we are as a team at the moment as we're clearly just playing out the last few games. If (big if) we win the Europa League, the season has been a big success. We'd have won 2 trophies and qualified for the Champions Leauge in a year of transition. But if we don't win it, it'll be a poor season; millions spent and just a League Cup to show for it. |

That's nothing like the characteristics that I'm proposing would provide a match to Ferguson: hunger, winning mentality, motivation, inspiration, fight, aggression, discipline, control, fear, respect, man-management, high standards, attacking football and opportunities to youth. If you find a manager with all that, you've found Ferguson 2.0 |

Moyes took over a league winning side that should never have really won the league but being Moyes never really stood a chance.
Van gaal completely destroyed the "identity" of the club and spent 250 million on players who most of won't be here come summer. Mourinho took over united in a much worse position than either of the two and has stabilized the club and brought back a bit of a United mentality. Thinking about league positions in year one is what effectively destroyed us ever regrouping after Ferguson. Had Mourinho joined after Ferguson he would have challenged for the league two years later. Had he joined after Moyes he would have challenged for the league after year two. He'll challenge for the league next year and there is simply no question about it. |

however, this is thread is more about the fact that we've got pretty much what might have been expected from all three managers. |
