"That's complete nonsense. I do not know where this story comes from but it is nonsense," van der Sar told www.sport-promotion.nl.

"I don't yet know whether I will stop or continue after this season. Only in the course of this season will I think about it."
Huzzah!

btw I always rated Isaksson who seemd to be treated quite badly by city. Anybody know what he's like at PSV these days?

Serie A giants Juventus have dismissed reports that Italy international goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon could join Manchester United.

The 32-year-old had been named as a possible successor to veteran Edwin van der Sar, who may call time on his illustrious career next summer.

Reports in Italy claimed United were considering making an €18million (£15.7m) offer to sign Buffon in January when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

However, soon after Buffon's agent Silvano Martini labelled the speculation as 'nonsense' Juventus have now stated no talks have taken place.

"I deny any negotiation with United, Buffon is a Juventus player," the club's general director Giuseppe Marotta told Tuttosport.

Buffon, who is first choice for club and country, is currently on the sidelines with a back problem and is contracted to the Old Lady until the summer of 2013.

Hardly any need for that is there, it was more of an enquiry than anything? Where and how has his mental weakness been exposed?

And what have my other terrible suggestions been?
