That's what I as thinking. Chong is similar. Played a few games. Went out on loan.

Going to bet nobody is offering us 23 million for him though. We were looking at less for Lingard ffs

You could argue he is being appointed because he has plenty experience of the Championship...

Don't really know why people are slagging Howe off tbh.

What he did at Bournemouth was pretty incredible tbh. Taking them from the bottom of league two, after a 17 point deduction, to the premier league within 6 years.

Yep

Decent manager imo.

If they get the right people in above him to sort out player recruitment he’ll get them challenging for europa spots next season.

Nevertheless, a meeting of the 20 clubs last month resulted in an overwhelming vote to ban related-party transactions, with the effect of preventing Newcastle from striking sponsorship deals with entities connected to the Saudi state or its Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Only Newcastle opposed the motion, while Manchester City, which is owned by members of Abu Dhabi's ruling family, abstained.

But City still can sponsor themselves? Eh? Am I missing something?

Does it matter anyway? Have no idea if FFP still applies following UEFA’s collapsed case against city.

Uefa's case didn't collapse - they ruled and banned them but unfortunately the CAS came in and rendered UEFA impotent.
