Honestly think they have to give them contracts to maintain numbers, then offload once they are replaced.

Would be a fine strategy if they weren’t also giving them massive pay rises way above their market worth.

Players like smalling and jones would be lucky to earn 70k a week at their next best alternative.

I said at half time in the match thread that I liked the game plan of pressing them high and trying to play out of the back
Refreshing change after Jose who would have had us defending deep and lumping long balls up the pitch

Felt we did both in the first half pretty well
A few times they beat the press but we nicked the ball off them on a number of occasions really well but then didn't take advantage of it
Also impressed with our composure to play out from the back but the problem was from the midfield onwards

2nd half the game plan of the first half went to shit

The big problem is outside of Pogba we have no creativity and no one in the midfield who can play a forward pass between the lines
Also for some reason since Moyes and the Fulham 80 plus cross game in tough games at OT we simply resort to playing the safe ball out wide and everyone runs into the box for the cross despite the fact we are fucking shite in the air

'Reality check'

He then goes on to speak about how we respond. Nowt wrong with that.

Have to ask: where the fuck was shorts last night? Normally see him hovering around the touchline, getting involved.

When we had full numbers, early doors, we made too many nervous passes. Plan was clearly to try and overwhelm them in the first 20 mins and build up some momentum. Crowd would have been rocking.

Then the injuries.

Maybe he could have been more ruthless in his subs but fuck me - state of Rom and Alexis. We need a clear out.

Still the main man imo.

But at a club where Sanchez is earning £350k a week plus bonuses, why would any fucker that's playing regularly accept £70k?

The next couple of weeks will tell us a lot about if giving him the job is a good idea or not.

Yep.

You don’t go giving contracts to jones, Smalling and young to keep numbers up. They should be the first to be replaced

Young I can understand tbh, experienced player that could be used as back up etc. The other two have been given bumper deals which will only make it harder to get shot of them.

This was my concern when we sacked Mourinho, that the board would go for a younger manger who wouldn’t expect a huge transfer budget and won’t rock the boat too much.

And definitely wait until may.
