It's honestly like we won the actual league ffs.

We haven’t played consistently well since we won the League Cup last February.

What I mean by playing consistently well is having played well in two games running.

In our last three matches we played Coventry, Sheffield United and Burnley.

We’ve conceded 6 goals, drew two of the games and won one, playing at a neutral venue and two home matches.

You couldn’t have asked for an easier run of games.

I don’t want him in charge for the Cup Final, in fact, I don’t want him in charge for the Palace game.

The sooner he is gone the better.

You could put any random manager in the world in charge and they'd do better. He is worse than Moyes.

I have to be honest, I've changed my mind a few times. I don't think there's any shame in that.

I've mostly fallen on the side of giving Erik another season, for two reasons: 1) the other candidates are utter dogshit and 2) we've been through loads of managers since Ferguson and at some point I think we need to weather the storm rather than jumping into the life raft every time the sea gets rough.

It's just that the football is so terrible, the results so wretched and it's so hard to see what the £#%&! he's trying to do, that it's next to impossible to make an argument that he deserves to stay on merit. The only argument is that he has got us to a second successive cup final, a third in total. Which we have very little chance of winning.

If he's sacked, I won't shed any tears. I just have absolutely no faith that the next guy, whoever it is, will do any better. I'm convinced we'll go through the same cycle again, and it could even get worse. I don't think he's a genius, I just have no idea why anyone thinks former Brighton managers who've won £#%&! all would do better.

We’ve tried almost every type since Fergie retired, I’m not even sure we can predict the outcome any more. Maybe simple change is the most positive thing we can do. Change until it works.

i don't really like to do this but that thread is just insane levels of giddiness.

He manages games better then anybody in the world imo.

He is on it with his subs, on it with his rotations, doesn't have favourites, disciplines players like a boss, treads the fine line between confidence and arrogance, isn't a @#%&! on the touchline or in press conferences.

He'll win multiple league and CL titles and man united.

Hard to imagine a more suitable manager for us other than Fergie himself.

I really don't think it is being giddy or being biased to say he is as good a manager as is out there right now.

The cycle has to continue until we find the right one.

We can’t accept mediocrity just because we are afraid the next guy will be just as bad.

You may well be right, I don't necessarily disagree. I'm just very pessimistic.

Me too. I enjoyed the Doc's time in charge more than Sexton. I can't imagine Southgate being any more exciting than Sexton, and I really worry that we'll end up with the grey waistcoat.

Well yeah of course. But then the next 45 managers will also have to be.
