Would have the Defence sorted by end the season.

De gea
AW Bisaka
Axel
Harry
Williams

Just play them and get them settled this season whatever the outcome.

People saying he needs to improve when attacking. He does. That's not giving stick. It's pointing out areas for improvement.

It's also echoing what was said on Match Of The Day & the post match analysis, the likes of Alexander-Arnold are far better on the ball going forward, but there's not a full back in the league who can defend like this lad.

The fact he is only just 22 shows he has loads of time to develop, imo it's far easier to learn how to cross a ball than it is to manage your distances defensively & time a tackle like he does.

I agree. I just hope he’s the type to work on the aspects of his game that need improving. Not all will.

It’s better to be excellent at your basic role and expand from there than be able to play 60 yard cross field balls but get skinned by left wingers.

That's what they said about Valencia though. He can't be as stupid as Tony turnaround though.

Can't remember the year, but his crossing and Rooney's balding bonce was a match made in heaven.

I reckon Valencia got the yips. In the end, he seemed terrified of finding himself in a position where he might have to cross the ball.

If he did find himself there, he'd usually look to give it to someone else to cross it instead. If there was no option but to try himself, he'd either blast it as hard as he could across the box or pull a slow floated cross behind everyone, including his own strikers. Absolutely terrified.

There was a period where Rooney was nothing, NOTHING without Valencia.

Relied on him for goals and for his infamous cross field Hollywood pass that he’d utilise a million times a game.

Valencia could kill a cross field ball like no one else. It was everything after that that was the problem.
