Default Wilkins: Sign Lampard Fergie!

‘He was fantastic [against Everton], wasn’t he?’ said Wilkins. ‘In the 11 games he’s played, he’s got six goals already.
‘This is the club’s decision to let him go – it’s nothing to do with Rafa Benitez - and in my opinion it’s the wrong decision. You need these older players to show the youngsters what it means to play for Chelsea.’

He’ll cost nothing, he’s about four years younger than Giggs and Scholes and he scores goals from midfield. He’s scored more goals this year than Carrick, Cleverley and Scholes combined.‘He’s comfortably got two or three more seasons in him. He won’t play 90 minutes every week but if he starts 20 games for Man United he’ll score them seven goals.’

I'd take him if we could get him in the jan transfer window. I'd take cole too.

Yes, I saw it in the other thread and posted regardless. titanic at your peril.

Signing lampard would be a no brainer, I mean come on ffs.

What use could we possibly have for a goalscoring midfielder, who's won the league and champions league?

Anyone who wouldn't want lampard as part of our squad is stone mad imo.

He may not have the engine he used to have but he retains one of the finest footballing brains in the Prem, and you can never have too many of those in your squad.

Don't like the guy and don't think he'd come to us anyway (ego, wanting to be a big fish again and do a 'Becks' will be his choice I reckon)

But I'd take him for a couple of years if he would

Brings in to focus the paucity of drive in our midfield when i'm nodding in agreement at signing an over-the-hill chubbster being discarded from one of our rivals.

that's the £#%&!ing point, we don't have a midfield... however, this would be in addition to what we had.

He'd be a superb signing. Not to be tainted with the Terry @#%&!-Brush.

a bit like Juventus signing the journeyman Pirlo who wasn't good enough for Milan perhaps ?!

ludicrous statement..

It's not that Lampard isn't good enough for Chelsea. It's that they've spent a shitload of money on midfielders and he is therefore surplus to requirements. No shame in taking a player in that circumstance.
