Default Covid Football

Bit shit innit?

We have our issues, but it just seems to be a giant elephant in the room. Pundits and the like talking about how entertaining the games are, pointing out shock results etc...

... but it's largely because it's NOT REAL FOOTBALL.

It felt odd when it came back, but then we adjusted, almost to the point where you forgot.... but it still doesn't feel the same.

The intensity isn't there, the stakes are rarely apparent in a game and then there's all the compromising of scheduling, players fitness to go with it.

They sliced the CL and EL in half last season and all closed our eyes and pretended it was normal.

Integrity of the game was the rallying cry when they talked about finishing the season.

The integrity move this season would have been to shelve it until players are fit, fans aren't worried about their jobs and can get back in the ground and we can schedule the season without it compromising the quality (which it will)

But way too much money at stake for that.

Of course our horrendous form has only added to the feeling, but I simply just don't really enjoy whatever this football is.

Didnít mind it when we were playing well for a few games tbh

Obviously it was pretty shit when we were just sc******* wins at the end of the season.

Iíd take sc******* wins now though.

Had it without crowd noise today. Ghastly. Subconsciously the players aren't there. It's Carrington, it's pulling out of challenges and it's multiple lapses of concentration. There's gonna be 10+ goal games a few times this season, just wait till you get to the dead rubber end of the season too
