A lot of people, on here anyway, forget how good he's been for us in these big European games.

Some absolute throbbers even wanted him dropped ffs.

No surprise to see curly, larry and mo in agreement.

Anyway, let's hope it's a big game for Rooney. Need these Madrid @#%&!s to be worried about what we have, rather than the other way around

Apologies for agreeing that Rooney has been superb on nights like this pal. I'll try and come up with a ridiculous, contrary position for the sake of it next time Bunks drops a truthbomb, just so you feel better.

So which big game and I mean big game did he take it by the scruff of the %@#$&!s and win it for us?

Maybe his earlier years could be used but since his wobble he's largely been gash IMHO.

kagawa: largely invisible, hattrick v norwich, everyone loves him.

rooney: been our best or one of our best players the entire time he's been at the club, right from his debut hattrick onwards, even when injured. a couple of donkey-like performances when coming back from injury(boozing). "not good enough".

is this the same wayne rooney that carries the hopes of the nation?

wake the £#%&! up. we need rooney.
