Heh. 10 league goals in 17 games, not bad considering the nightmare season he's having.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it was ridiculous that we allowed this lad to leave the Country.
As soon as he started to really look the part at Spurs we should have paid them pretty much whatever they wanted. Why waste time & money on Valencia, Young, Obertan, Bebe ffs when you're only ever going to get 'steady' at best.

Crazy money on him & show a bit of faith in Pogba & we'd be set for years.
Easier said than done though admittedly.

I don't think it's down to us "allowing" him to leave the country, when Madrid come calling most would find it hard to say no.

yep. madrid are the one team in the world who i can understand losing a united player to.

we've enough rooneh threads on here so i'm not about to turn this into another one, but this is also why united had to sign wazzoh up, had we sold him or lost him to chelsea it would have been a bigger disaster than having motes as our manager!

Yes, but that's my point.
We should have bought him 2 or 3 summers ago before Madrid came calling.

Think it was Watcher who said we should have gone to Spurs the morning after his San Siro hat-trick & said "how much do you want?"

It was careless of us to let him get so £#%&!ing good!

given that SAF prided himself on spotting young talent, he's clearly one that got away like you say.

and we had the perfect £#%&!ing recipe for him, giggsy to tap him up, pass him the number 11 shirt, but we were clearly never in for him until the last minute last summer

Yep and he could've moved to United but didn't want to.

He's made for United, tbh. British, powerful, pacey, exciting, direct.

If we didn't have leeches sucking millions out of us every year, Bale would be a Red. One day, maybe...

Heard a very strange rumour RE the lad a few months back...

Doesn't even see himself as pure welsh, like a southern English Welshman...a little like the Wrexham Manchester reds.
Apparently hates united, has socially stated he's ABU and wouldn't even consider the move...

Would like to see him score that at 0-0 against fellow professionals.

He's already turned us down multiple times. He's just not interested.

We're not the same draw for young players anymore, we probably have more of a reputation for breaking players or stifling development than we do developing them now. Sad really.
