That’s been my thinking on it for years tbh. Honestly reckon we’ll end up worse off initially.

Mad how the doomers on Fred seem to have an intimate knowledge of who’s out there and how much money they have to spend.

Let’s be honest, none of us have a £#%&!ing clue. There’s dozens and dozens of individuals who could afford us, hundreds and hundreds of companies, and then again dozens and dozens of investment groups.

Only god knows what will happen.

I’m hoping someone sees value in just £7bn plus however much investment is required as a play thing, because it’s hardly going to make them richer.

As far as cities go, I don’t think Newcastle has quite the same pull as London.

Not sure how them or apple would be good for us. It would be the same as the glazers: run as a business rather than a sporting institution.

Imagine about 4 million amazon prime subscriptions in this country getting cancelled in an instant.

Yeah, exactly like the Glazers tbf

Nobody is buying a football club for £7bn and not running it like a business unfortunately.

Classifying money owed for transfers as “debt” is a new one tbf, not sure I’ve ever seen any other football club get saddled with that.

Would a buyer be saddled with the debt. Would that not be on the glazers to clear once they get the cash from the sale?

I can’t decide. The debt* is on the club, so you’d expect it to stay on the club. Surely they can’t be asking for £7bn and for the buyer to take on the debt though?

*non transfer related.

Well the Glazers would factor it into the sale price either way as would any buyer so it's moot who clears it, as long as it get's cleared of course

I said at the time of the take-over, one of their hopes was that the TV rights deal changed & each team got to negotiate their own deals. It hasn't happened & the failure of the ESL means they've drained as much cash out of United as they can.

It’s all reading as a very, very bleak situation tbh. If you were a buyer you wouldn’t be rushing in at the asking price, the Glazers can’t afford to own the club, the price is only going to fall with time you’d think.
