My initial thoughts were “wow Casillas coming out will be inspirational for current gay footballers”. But between it being a “joke” and some of the replies I saw on Twitter, I can’t see any players coming out for the foreseeable. Quite sad really,

Think it’s more the effect it’ll have on players who ARE gay, especially at youth levels. Bit of a kick in the teeth for them isn’t it, seeing players they probably look up to take the piss…
