It's entirely and completely because he's English.
He also has a much better squad if we're being honest.

Yeah, probably. Not by much IMO. We're comparable anyway in terms of points, inconsistency etc.

But the perception of each manager is entirely different.

English managers with a stellar playing career behind them get an embarrassing amount of leeway.

Older British managers are like Teflon.

Athletico Mince podcast has a whole bit about the British Managers Association, where Allardyce, Hughes, Moyes, Pardew, McClaren, Pulis congratulate each other on their latest 'Destroy & Exit'

Regardless of how badly they do, they're straight into another similar job.

Look at Moyes. A total embarrassment since he left Everton. Hasn't performed well as a manager since 2013, yet he can still pick up a premier league job at a club like West Ham.

Mourinhos tactics getting slated in the studio. Genuinely think he's finished at the top level.

Of course he is. The game has moved on, both tactically and in terms of man management of modern pros. He's a total ghoul who sucks the life out of everything.

I just hope we can enjoy watching him take increasingly degrading jobs. Fulham boss in a season or two?

It's not his tactics. There's a place for any approach if it's done well.

It's his man-management and toxicity.

Players don't run through walls for him anymore. He did well at Chelsea and Inter with 'old school' players who respect him, but the game has moved on and more 'nurturing' managers are key.

His ego is out of control too. Fine when you can back it up, not when you can't.

He seems to have fallen out of love with the game too. He's always been a @#%&!, but 2005 Mourinho was funny, smirking entertaining @#%&!

Now he's just depressed and depressing.

I have no issue with the guy. He's been one of the most successful and prominent managers of the last 20 years, but he isn't in that top bracket any more and the baggage increases with each appointment.

I agree... the shit he serves up these days is a joke. The teams he had on 04/05/06 were excellent but when he left they got to the CL final and were a set of dodgy reffing decisions from going back the year after too.

For me he’s a good defensive manager with an underdog club but can’t do it with the top, top sides.

So we're 5th if we win tomorrow and in the CL places.

Not bad

Sheffield United, for all their heroics and praise, wont finish above us. Same with Wolves.

Between us, Chelsea and Spurs for two spots.

Wouldn't bet against City playing in next season's CL just yet.

Equals the record for consecutive games scored in in Serie A, having scored in the last 11.. only 3 players have ever done it, Batistuta, Quagliarella and now Ronaldo

Well until about 2002 our record there wasn't bad at all, we used to struggle to beat them at OT instead in those days.
