I am convinced they’re doing something dodgy behind the scenes. Whether it’s to raise the value of the club to take a big loan out. Launder money through the club. Find a loop hole where they buy players only paying. 5-10 million a year across 5-6 years but have hopes for selling them for twice as much in a year or two time.

Obviously their takeover of Newcastle means they have to be seen to keep other English clubs at arm's length

The Saudis are well known for being pretty scattergun with their "investments" (they keep Uber afloat apparently) so that could make sense maybe
