Default Champs league on TV

Word from the times is that BT have outbid Sky & ITV... Dearly me. No more free to air games from 2015

Maybe the front page says there's an iceberg ahead.

Reports of them having exclusive right for CL and EL football from 2015 paying over £1billion 3 year deal.

Looks like the £#%&!ers have it in the bag. England qualifiers and the FA Cup is all that'll be available on free to air tv

Branson must be chucking some money in as well, because if you strip out all the people who get BT Sport free with broadband (let alone Virgin customers as well) the sum total of £#%&! all have subscribed to BT Sports

On the plus side, no more shit ITV coverage.

On the negative side, lots more shit BT coverage.

It isn't until 2015 anyway so we've got time to prepare.

Slightly surprised sky haven't bid for at least half given the packages were being sold quite flexibly. Unless they just didn't see it as making financial sense anymore.

BT may well end up going up in price (and I certainly expect it to stop being free at some point) because they'll probably have to introduce at least one new channel and an interactive service like sky have to show the games on, plus they'll have to employ more commentators.

The only ones benefiting from this would be the clubs, as they would get more money.

Branson has nothing to do with Virgin Media.
