And if you believe this forum, Marcus Rashford should have went there a few years ago too.

Remember a striker mid 90's was gonna be the next big thing, david Johnson, they done a piece on him in that monthly video magazine thing (cant remember what it was called), I think he went Ipswich after playing about 5 nothing games for us, think we get a few quid for him though.

Well yes, that's how the meme originated rather

Just interested in how many of our ex-players have *actually* gone there.

No one really believed that. It was Sparky being a drama queen after a poor run of form for Rashford. It wasn’t serious.

I remember the article, imaginatively enough the magazine was called Manchester United. Johnson had a wonder season or two down there and received a Scotland call-up, think there was a hot mic thing involving him and Keys/Gray.

I saw that idea mooted on twitter. He's half as good, that's why. Plus- not a chance Wolves would sell him for that either.

There's not many better options around than Sancho, he's £#%&!ing brilliant and only 20.

£50mio is a joke figure.

but sancho is just more of the same. we could do with a jiminez. preferably, the one that cost £30mio, not the one who will cost £90mio.

It's a ridiculous assertion that we shouldn't get the best players available. & the kid is English, knows the area etc. He gets 20+ goals & 20+ assists, and isn't even 21 yet. He's absolutely perfect for us.

Traore doesn't even start for Wolves.

If this is true (a big if as it's Sky Sports) then it would be typical Ed negotiation tactics. Does the player want to join us? Yes? Okay then offer a derisory figure and hope the player kicks up enough of a fuss that we can get him cheap. Cue the transfer saga going on until last day of window when we pay £150m with add ons for every game played and Ed thinking he's done the business the furry faced muppet.

It’s an interesting one. On the surface it’s hard to see any club sanctioning a 100m transfer after what we’ve just been through; that said, Dortmund have a bit of a problem because they’re implicitly a club that’s known for developing players then letting them move onto a bigger club on better terms, and you’re getting a whiff that Sancho believes that time is now. I’m sure they won’t want to go through a season of uncertainty with a disgruntled player having to be benched because his head’s not right.*

Best guess is that this ends up getting done sub 100m, very back loaded with loads of achievable add-ons.

*We may not want to admit it, but this should also be a red flag for us. If his head’s going down at Dortmund because he wants a move here, it could easily happen again in a few years with Madrid or Barcelona.
