Default If you could compare your own style of play...

To that of a United player over the years, who would it be?

I was most like Sheringham... £#%&! all pace but an eye for a pass and great goal scorer.

Jaap Stam. No nonsense centre half, strong in the tackle, good in the air and keep it simple with the distribution.

Gary Pallister. Tall centre back - played for Manchester Boys with Jason Beckford.

Good at passing but mainly there to win the tackle and as many headers as possible.

As I got older, I peaked in my early 30's as a right midfielder in Germany, helping out my full back, getting a few goals and mainly giving the ball to some really skilful lads. I think I turned into JS Park :afro:

£#%&! knows.

Better without the ball than with it.

Big
Strong
Not particulary fast
Good in the air
Liked kicking people and getting kicked back
Excellent tackler and good reading of the game defensively

Which meant I was a centre half or fullback by trade but was occasionally played in mid.

@ school/pub level I was a so/so forward cos I was a good finoisher. Any higher than that I was useless cos I wasn't v.fast and I'd get bored and drop back too much and my reading of the game was dodgy. Unflashy good right foot.

Had to try pretty £#%&!ing hard to be slightly better than average. more than likely die withing 8 minutes of the match starting now. Also a bit of a @#%&! cos of my ankle now too.

I was king of the £#%&!ing hill until the age of 13 or so.

Strong, fast, aggressive and skillful as £#%&!. Think Cantona + Scholes + Keane

Then everyone 'developed' a bit quicker than me, tall and skinny but skillful was crushed into the ground by much bigger and hairier boys who were being taught by teachers that being chunky cloggers was an adequete replacement for quality.

gave up and took up girls, booze and drugs
