Wayne Rooney believes he has a chance of playing in Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Officially the England striker has been ruled out for two to three weeks with the ankle ligament injury he picked up in last Tuesday’s 2-1 first leg defeat.

Rooney turned up at Old Trafford yesterday still wearing a protective boot on his damaged right foot.

He hopes intensive treatment will enable him to play some part against the powerful Germans – even if it’s as a substitute.

Mmm are we capable atm of keeping a clean sheet don't think so.

Will we win and go through cannot see why not, but has been said already play like we did for the first hour against Chelsea and it's game over.

Starting the game with gary and the ginger prince would also be a mistake imo.

Surely we can't play as bad as the 1st game and the 1st half v Chelsea?

I'm not confident about Weds at all. Yesterday was a good chance to erase that poor performance in Germany and we were equally as bad (if not worse) for the first 50 mins.

It's a good opportunity for a United style 'shut everyones faces' performance/result too.

(I know the Chelsea game was also)

My expectations for this game are as low as they could be. That's pretty mad considering we're at home against a team with a shit defence with a one goal deficit to make up. And Lyon or Bordeaux lie in wait in the semis. Surely that shows just how poor we've been in the last two games.

I think it will be a cracking game. I can see them scoring first though. As long as Princess Michael holds it together after that we'll storm back.
