And it will tell you why we got such a shit performance.

They’ll blame and sack the manager. In the 3-4 actual seasons needed he will get two.

The manager will have to be replacing players he signed in his first window and have his final window penny pinched by the glazers.

How are we already at having to replace varane casmiro and Eriksen.

God forbid the manager criticise anyone either because that’s not allowed. But god forbid the manager not be too play with the players either and never criticise like ole because that’s not allowed either .

The manager has made mistakes but if you have to start that back you will get results with like we always have. None of them should be playing for a title winning team.

Varane has clearly done something he doesn’t like and if varane cannot commit to games or whatever it is than he shouldn’t be playing .

Sancho , no need to go into it .

The fact the manager had to bring on two loan players yesterday to try to rescue it says enough. Manchester United supplying the manager with many loan players . ( think he’s had about 5-7 in the two years he has been here)

Hojlund is our only CF. Imagine that happening at the other clubs. Having one genuine striker.

Of course the manager has to do better but the players get a free ride. Anyone who has been managing Manchester United for the last 10 years or so will tell you this is the same old cycle . Changing of the manager will do nothing for the long term.

The manager has made mistakes , but if we go down the same old route of picking these feckless players of the manager then we may aswell just make our bed and agree , this is Manchester United now. The two year cycle team

Can’t argue with a word of that.

Maybe Hojlund is the only striker because he spent the budget on Antony, Mount, Onana and Hojlund.

He wasn’t forced to spend €75m on a teenager with back problems. Or €50m on Mount or a goalie that’s worse than the one that was turfed out.

You can claim circumstances but ultimately Ten Hag is responsible for the majority of them. Just like he was mainly responsible for the turn around last year. This year he’s £#%&!ed it up with the recruitment and the management of the players and the setting up of the team.

If he’s got a plan it’s not working (now) so he needs to put together another one. Playing the leagues worst teams has put a bit of lipstick on the pig but looks like that’s about to get wiped off.

He was told by the morons above him that Greenwood was coming back in.

You can debate the rights and wrongs but for them to not foresee ‘any’ issue with what that would do, and to handle it so badly is just simple incompetence

It’s that incompetence which means ETH should get a pass. Can’t be starting again on another two year cycle again.

It’s always darkest before the dawn. Hopefully Jim is the dawn but thats all we have to cling on to. Another manager is just another false dawn.

Again, you don’t know that for sure. And he’s not a child. People on here said he was coming back and others said/knew well, that’s not just for them to decide and you cannot guarantee it. There must have been/should have been a plan B because even if you said oh we thought Greenwood would be back. To not have a backup plan is a dereliction of duty.

OK, maybe and I do think it’s fair to question his possible naivety too, but why would you expect the manager of an enormous football club to be responsible for that plan B?

Dereliction of duty we agree on there 100%!- Not ETHs.

Not a buying another striker is the least of his mistakes. Spending what few pounds we had available on Mount was criminal. Compounded with Onana.

Rasmus at least hasn't looked awful or gone missing. Saying that, we are a few weeks away from Christmas and he still hasn't scored a PL goal. That's also quite worrying from our big summer signing.

Hojlund should be sharing his minutes with a Cavani type stop gap to take the pressure off him, behind an experienced player. Instead we’ve now got a situation where he’s in danger of his league drought sinking his confidence.

Mad risk making a kid from another country playing in a different country your main man the minute they were fit.

It’s criminal of the club.

ETH:

should not be playing Dalot over Regullion and should not be allowing The Scottish Player to do anything other than sit near Mainoo.

He also has to forget Rashford and Martial.

The results are shit. The football is shit. His signings are shit. His man management is shit. His substitutions are shit. His tactics are shit.

What is he supposed to be good at? Because I'm failing to see it.

The club is a mess, but that in no way excuses the crap we have to watch every week.

He has spent hundreds of millions and half the team are his players. He should be able to motivate them and the other half.

The only real question is whether he goes when Jim joins or at the end of the season.

He goes on about patterns of play a lot but when players, especially those he bought, come in and play well, he doesn’t keep them in the team, but puts players into positions they’re not used to instead.

Shaw shouldn’t be starting at centre back. He should be developing a playing relationship with garnacho. He should be developing a playing relationship with Hojlund, he should be getting goal scoring opportunities as a result.

AWB should be starting at right back in a consistent run of games, with Antony ahead of him, so they can develop etc, etc.

A team can’t compete at the top end of the premier league when two of the players in it can’t be bothered playing football. I don’t understand how the manager tolerates Martial at the club, never mind the first team, given how he has managed Sancho and Varane.

Rashford is going to get ETH the sack. It will be his own fault for sticking by him, if and when it happens. An abomination of a player, no interest in competing, useless at playing. At least Pogba, when he didn’t want to play, had the decency to feign injury and be unavailable for selection.

Last season as manager of Manchester United he signed and played weghorst nearly every game….

You think that man should then still be the dug out?
Instead he was given more money and just look what he bought.

A kid who scored 9 goals in serie a and would then be leading the line in the hardest league in the world in a term with no striker
Mason mount a midfielder with no purpose or quality we actually needed.
A comedy keeper.

ETH aka out of his depth and despite the optics of him looking like the modern manager we’d like to have he is far from it.

It’s nearly December and we haven’t even won a game in anger against a good teamS routinely beaten by any half decent side both in the league and Europe.
Cup competition we were tossed out by the first decent team we played and the same with happen in the FA Cup.

The club is a complete joke and a lot needs to change, but the manager is also part of the problem. He’s starting to look hopeless.

Exactly. If Ten Hag was told by his boss that Greenwood was coming back, which he clearly b would have been, it’s absolutely bizarre to expect him to come up with a back up plan in case his bosses have made a monumental misjudgment.

Again. No way anyone could have guaranteed that. I can’t believe that anyone at Manchester United would have said hey Erik, 100% guaranteed Mason will be back. Nobody in this day and age would have offered such a guarantee and again if he, fully responsible for the team and squad accepted it, then again, he’s naive to say the least.

Plus even If greenwood came back, he hasn’t played for 18mths so no guarantees how he’s gonna return mental state etc . So if he’s just gone oh masons back no need to worry, that’s not good management.

Greenwood was never coming back to the first team this year. No chance. If (huge if) we were keeping him, he'd have gone out in loan first until January.

And we'd still be left with 2 relatively inexperienced strikers plus martial. We'd still need an experienced striker to supplement them.

We needed a new GK, we needed a new RW.

Now the smart thing to do, is maybe plan ahead. Not rush into signings or freebies like Eriksen (though he’s been decent not long term) or Casemiro .

Onana looks to be throwing things into the net but he’s a new signing give him 12 months to bed in

Last January, we could have signed a striker. Last January we could have signed a decent RB. Just one position to fill so it’s one less to fill in the summer.

I would love to know if mount was actually his signing. It makes no sense for him to sign someone like mount for 55 million, in a position that’s covered by his captain.

ETH does have blame, think Antony still has potential but he’s been average at times. There were reports we could have got him cheaper if they went after him earlier. However, managers do make signings they don’t need. Pep and Klopp have made signings that have been complete duds . It happens

. I think you need to ask yourself the question why the club has to get every signing perfect otherwise it goes tits up because we already have so many shit@#%&!s at the club .

They were chasing de jong for a whole summer. The whole recruitment above him is a clown show. Woodward and Arnold both idiots. This is why the manger needs to stay, a new manager will have the same set of shit @#%&!s.

Need to get Ratcliffe in and hope to God he has control over the recruitment and gets the right people in.

I also want to add you can’t just brush off the Ronaldo/greenwood/Sancho situation.

ESP when the dressing room has history of shitting the bed. He has ronaldo single biggest name in the world walking out of of games early.

Sancho, undermining the manager in public and having “fans” back Sancho

No doubt some members in the dressing room after outstaying Jose lvg ole and ralf will hate to see actual consequences of their shit actions.

This is why I don’t get the varane situation with fans. Varanes obviously done something which goes against team principles he’s trying to set. Shall we as a club just ignore them? Setting a standard of player power and then let the next manager get sacked.

Greenwood situation, took the board 7 months or whatever it was to make a decision after the police dropped the case only to go back on their word in a few days. How can a manager plan ahead when he doesn’t know what players he will have or at the very least loses a player so quickly?

ETH has made mistakes, he is human. All managers do, but the biggest issues with the club , come from the very top. Sacking him will just keep the circle going .

He has also had many injuries this season. Now if we have a decent squad not a problem. We don’t even have a good First XI. With our current team if we have 1 or 2 first teamers injured we are already in the shits. Having 4-5 of them out and it’s a struggle.

He was given Amrabat and Regullion on loan. (And the reserve GK) imagine any other top 6 club signing 3 loan players in a window

Of course the club would . New to Man Utd? The owners would penny pinch where they can. It’s a case of “greenwood’s coming back so there’s no money for a striker”

What’s the stance then? Use money of a limited budget to sign a 3rd choice striker ? The greenwood thing switched on its head quickly . Also this is Man Utd we are talking about. They wouldn’t have had a definitive answer till very late anyway.

AWB has come back from injury.

Same with Hojlund. A fully fit Hojlund starts yesterday. He has no option but to play martial there. Well martial or rashford. Both are £#%&! right now. Only other option is to play with a false 9 and experiment a bit. Don’t have many options when your only striker isn’t fully fit.

People keep throwing this around as though it’s fact. It isn’t. It’s plausible at best. The club went into a consultation process over Greenwood which at least publicly, suggests that no decision had been made. Even if he was told privately that it was happening, it clearly wasn’t clear cut.

Regardless, the club should have had a more well established striker other than Greenwood next to Hoijlund. Rasmus should have been brought into play in stages - rather than, ‘here you are pal, try your best in the dogs dinner of a set up.’

Buying Mount was ridiculous, and to a lesser extent Onana was too.

I really don't want to get rid of Ten Hag but it’s becoming more about not wanting the upheaval and the players getting away with it again, rather than any confidence I have in him.
