Whoever is in there, we need to deal better with being pressed high up the pitch, as a team.
That would require getting some defenders who don't have toblerone boots.

I don't think any of them exactly excel at passing the football.

It's an issue with most of the back four choosing poorly, executing poorly and then the receiver doing the same.

Previous match threads are the most obvious place to discuss ongoing, general stuff that isn’t really specific mate. At some point it’s not really about that game specifically, just replying to points.

Though the above discussion is still related to Monday night, so nothing wrong with this thread being continued at all.

If Ole’s going to persist with this preference to play out from deep then we need defenders and midfielders who are more comfortable and need less time on the ball, or we’re always going to struggle against lesser teams who are well organised and work their socks off. Southampton clearly targeted our full backs and Pogba for the press, and why wouldn’t they?

It’s also no longer wise to focus on the odd De Gea wonder save and ignore everything else about him. Watching him bash those balls either out of play or so wide that it’s nigh on impossible to control and do something with it is getting annoying. His reluctance to throw it out, ever, isn’t a great attribute for a team that likes to break either. Our forwards don’t even bother running when he has it in his hands.
