Ngolo Kante has to be rescued in the summer

Very good player, but not the type I enjoy watching or want us to sign.

probably the best holding midfielder in the world when leicester won the league but vardy was also one of the best attackers. so idk.

I know. I just don't really like holding players who do only that job.

Personal preference.

He's very good at it, but a limited footballer.

I don't think he's better on the ball than Matic, but is obviously more energetic and mobile.

I don't want him or Matic there next season tbh.

Hard to find that DM who has the ability to make the play, defend intelligently and is mobile and athletic enough to influence an open game. Players with that type of ability generally aren't playing DM.

Kante is a very good player but as the deep lying midfielder I think you lose some of the effect of his ability to press and win the ball and his passing range is limited from that position. Can understand why Sarri wanted a different option there, just Jorginho looks entirely unsuited to this league.

He's not really a holding midfielder. He buzzes around and wins the ball up the field. Like Gattuso who despite being a far less creative player would actually pop up in areas higher up the field than Pirlo.

Kante on form and playing in the right position is like having a 12 man team.
