Meulensteen: "Jesse has the attributes in his game as Iniesta had for Barcelona"

Well, I suppose they both play mens football, erm, Lingard runs around a bit like his Spanish counterpart, anything else that ranks J-lingz alongside one the greatest players of his generation?

It’s stuff like this that makes you wonder whether a persons CV within the game is truly any indication of their expertise. No, truly. Is it possible that a man who trained Man Utd under SAF is actually a clueless, rent-a-quote dolt who has no £#%&!ing idea what they’re talking about? Iniesta.

The only time I expect to see the words Iniesta and Lingard in the same sentence is when Iniesta is compiling a list of the worst players he’s ever seen.

Funny you should allude to his CV. He was fairly obscure when he started working for us and wasn't there some suggestion his pre-United career was a bit sus? He certainly looked like a prize dolt at Fulham.

I have no idea, but it does seem a bit suspect that Ferguson’s trainer can’t get a job anywhere in football.

Totally transformed Uniteds academy training methods. Introduced a purely skills based technical programme similar to Ajax which is why even the defenders from the academy are so comfortable with a ball. Compare the control that Tuanzebe and Williams have compared to Jones and Lindelof. Thats what Meulensteens legacy at Utd is. Never been any cop as a manager though. And that is why he is defending Lingard, because he was one of the first through after the change.

That's fair enough but saying Lingard has the same attributes as Iniesta is akin to saying Chris Wood has the same attributes as Drogba. He's obviously not comparing them but set the standard a little lower. Opening yourself up to ridicule there Rene.

In now way can I defend that statement. Can only think Rene has been at the psychedelics.
