There’s probably another 15-20 million in agent fees and bonuses which do not get recorded as part of the transfer fee. City are nowhere near paying the money they supposedly are.

Same with haaland, the agent must have taken atleast 20-30 million ontop of what they paid .

Garner for McT improves midfield immediately. He doesn't hide. Is comfortable receiving the ball and is a great passer.

We should have been going all out for rice instead of the snowflake at Barca. Too late now so Mcfred it is.

Back to try for Jonny Crybaby this time next year

At Championship level. Nobody knows if he can do it at a higher level.

when garner has played for us, he has played very much within himself. having watched him for forest, I'm not sure it was simply deference to more experienced players and noobism. he needs to impose himself. he's a tidy player, but needs character and cojones.

I'd agree, Iqbal looks the lion out of the three ..

Bit harsh to judge garner on preseason, he’s only just come back from injury and had two 45 mins?

Either savage or Iqbal has to be bumped up to a first team CM if garner goes on loan. Only have 2 recognised CMs in mcfred and rightly so most people think they aren’t good enough for the first team.

Iqbal is great at receiving the ball in tight areas but Garner is a lot better defensively.

The other option is to give Garner a season to see whether he's good enough and then back in for De Jong when we get CL next season.

I don’t think United have that luxury atm . In the central midfield position atleast. It needs plugging .if it was one of the wing positions or number 10 you could get away with it but we desperately need atleast one new competent CM

Play Martinez there. Ok he might not be that quick McGuire isn’t that quick but we play him.
Utd have a lot of sub optimal option as first team regulars right now.

Let's attack these teams at home....let's take risks and high press from the front ...

It's a new era, Rip up the false 6 rule book...
That's a great in practice but it would be nice to have a couple of midfielders who can pass accurately from A to B. we've finally got one in Eriksen but for us to go flying at teams we can't be doing with Fred & The Scottish Player blasting the ball waist high at our forwards, every rapid attack will fall the minute one of those two #@&%!s are in possession.

Now it's completely obvious De Jong doesn't fancy it we need do Neves or any other functioning midfielder

That's my view too. You don't need pace in CDM.

Seems like he has the attributes to be decent there. We don't want a midget at cb anyway.

Neves.

You don’t need speed at that position. It’s not like carrick was fast either. It’s all about quality on the ball. Get it done.
