Default Cinema Tech 4DX

I felt this was more a tech thread than film, apologies if I'm wrong.

Have any of you beautiful beasts tried the 4DX seats at the cinema?

If you don't know what it is (and I didn't until an hour ago ), the seats move, fans blow wind over you, smells are comin atcha.

Is it any good?

I kind of get the impression it is a gimmick that would grate over the course of a full film, but I'm happy to bow to superior knowledge

Yep, watched Hobbs and Shaw in one with my kid. Loved it tbh. Got to choose the right kind of movie, daft one as it does add to the experience

Going to watch Top Gun again again at one of these cinemas.

It's definitely a gimmick
More a distraction than enhancing the movie going experience

Watched The Batman first in 4DX and having your seat adjust to match the panning of the camera is very distracting
I then saw it in IMAX and it was a miles better experience

I saw Top Gun in IMAX

You definitely need to see it in IMAX and not just for the screen size but for the IMAX audio experience when they're in the fighter jets

An old school great summer blockbuster film

I need to try 4DX, but this film sounds too good to not do Imax

I did IMAX. Had a constant grumble as the seats were awful, skinny hard things and way too close to the screen. They did have premium seats, but they were sold out. Will only use them if I go back there.

Used to utmost comfort at the cinemas nowadays.
