I'd have Keane in his prime over any player in the current Utd squad. Ronaldo aside, any Utd player over the last decade tbh.

And maybe Scholes at his best as well.

Possibly the last true United player

axe him how the £#%&! you get a job in journoland when A) you can't £#%&!ing write for shit and B) you know £#%&! all about your subject matter.

I only axe cos I'd like something along the same lines in the 'money for old rope without the rope' game.

They're all failed novelists.

The circle jerk on twitter is amusing. All of them are gushing over this Rob Smyth piece, and then he will gush over someone else's, etc. :shakehead:

He will never, ever, *ever* live "shredding his legacy at every turn" down. That is punishment enough, tbh

If his "official" pic above is a flattering one - as does rather tend to be the case with these things - you do wonder, don't you

Hold on. I was referring to his attitude.
Saw him for the North against Portugal last week and he stood out in terms of his determination and drive.
Considering his age and position, he's only learning the ropes.
If he continues to progress in this vein, he might emerge as a real leader.

Keane was still getting in brawls in hotels when he was 26 (though it was with Dubs so no harm)

We need leaders with a little bit of nastiness in them.

Give over. A lot of United fans agreed with that. Some still do.

couldn't finish it, couldn't shake the piss-poor intro to the piece...

some decent points at the heart of it, but they aren't points of any great insight...

Keane apparently has always been an incredibly complex man, a compelling fusion of instinctive intelligence and pathological desire...

the author is nowt but a very poor man's mid 90s Kurt - and some of that is embarrassing when you read it back now as well btw!

%@#$&!s. You could write a sensationalist article about every club every season, which some people might agree with at the time. I'd expect a half decent journalist to be able to show a little less knee jerk.

I mean ffs..............

Does it sound any different to the Top Top Doomers banging on about Frogson?
