Agreed. City are the same. You can bet a pound to a piece of shit that should qualify for the CL unless they are playing one of the big 'uns (Barca, Madrid, Milan etc..) Wastelands will be a sea of empty seats. £#%&!ers.

I could sort of understand O'Neill and Villa, maybe Spurs a bit, in recent seasons, as they were chasing 4th spot and in reality that is a little more important to the club than the CL, but most teams that make it to the Europa should be giving it a good go and the fans should be enjoying it.

Another by-product of the swollen mess that is the CL is the ruination of the UEFA Cup and the Cup Winners Cup

oh i know, i just think this prioritising %@#$&!s is taken way too far. i understand using the league cup to blood youngsters etc but that's different from the league or the big cups. the reason 99 was such a spectacularly ace season was that we went for everything full throttle and we had as hard draws as you could get and it was magnificent. bayern and barca in the group, inter, juve and bayern again. the only shit we had that year was brondby and we put 12 past them in two games then if you look at the fa cup run we played every team in the top 6 (or every team we played was in the top 6 at the time, can't remember which) with one exception - a team that knocked out a top 6 side in the previous round. mental it was.

I can't believe there's people entertaining the idea of spurs....SPURS beating real Madrid.
