The thinking these days is that any contact with the arm by an attacking player is penalised.

The handball rule has gone mental. People moaned for years about wanting consistency and they're going to get it. Will soon be the case that everything is handball. Except last night

What utter, utter £#%&!ing nonsense. If a ball marginally grazing an elbow that’s tucked into the abdomen is now a handball I need to start watching cricket.

He’s an arrogant @#%&! on seppo tv trying to be controversial. “ I’m the authority around here, just listen to the accent.”

Still not a handball

If that was a handball then defenders with arms by their sides would have to be penalties as well, and they're not.

Thanks

The ref they had on BT was saying it should have been disallowed because

'You can't score a goal with your hand'

Does that imply that the laws are different for attackers than defenders?

I thought the new rule was that if the ball hits a players hand and goes into the net it can't be allowed. Intentional or not.

But that's not what happens with Llorente. There's an unintentional handball, it then hits his hip and goes in.

Look, we all know what this is. If that was Aguero they’d be singing a whole different tune.

So boring.

Just about every ref I’ve seen interviewed has said it was a goal, despite it hitting his hand. I think the ref from the game has said he’d already factored into his decision that it hit his elbow, so didn’t need to see further angles.

From what I’ve seen, they said the new rules coming in June would mean it would then be disallowed.

It’s basically people in the media trying to create drama and talking points, whilst also not really knowing the rules properly.

What is the wording of the new rule?

Llorente scored because it hit his arm, then his hip. But he didn't score with his arm. So would this be allowed with the new rule or not?

Thanks

They were talking about making yourself bigger being the deciding factor for a handball desision.

His arm was right by his side, ergo not a handball.

Berts are just desperate or ignorant (nowt new there tbf)

Actually, all it takes is a quick google, it was more a sly dig at asking a stupid £#%&!ing question. HTH.

Thanks.
