It is from a purists view - but without var, city would have gone through tonight and would have been £xmillion/profile/attract players/sponsorship better off because they got on the right side of one bad human decision.

In other words, you can’t make the game this lucrative and then allow decisions to be so prone to error. You don’t need var in Sunday league, you do need it in the 1/4rs of the worlds biggest cup competition. Make the game less about success and money, be less arsed about the impact of a human decision.

Football became the worlds most popular sport with bad decisions. It's not worth tampering with the fabric of the game in pursuit of a few more correct decisions. I hate it; to me it's anti football shite. It just happened to be funny tonight.
