Default Serie A Wages

Quote:

Paul Pogba gets €1.5m after tax, that's £23k a week. Juve been desperately trying to improve that for years. Contract ends June 2016.

The much wanted Juan Cuadrado gets €1.05m after tax from Fiorentina, that's £16k a week.

De Vrij's contract since joining Lazio is €900k after tax, that's £14k a week. Unlikely he had top Premier League offers.

Mexes earns the same as Torres. €4m after tax.

Micah Richards, on £72k p/w at Man City rejected club to earn £26k p/w at Fiorentina

Kevin Strootman gets €2.8m after tax from Roma. That's £42k a week

Manolas, who Arsenal were heavily linked with, signed a contract with Roma on €1.5m after tax, that's £23k a week.

De Rossi paid more than twice as much as Strootman, on €6.5m per year after tax.

Vidal on €4m after tax at Juventus, that's £62k per week.

And last, but certainly not least, Fredy Guarin is on €2.8m after tax, that's £43k.
Shocking that Young, Cleverley etc are on more money than some of those

It's all relative I'd imagine. Some of the attendances in Italy are shocking and I doubt they get much TV revenue.

It's not just about the wages. They have the most beautiful women (until they're sun damaged) and the most beautiful tomatoes (until sun dried).

A common misconception of Italian football is before the match loads of fans throwing toilet rolls onto the pitch. It's actually rolls of perforated lasagne made by mamma and then donated to the players to make up for their wages. They don't go without over there.

Yup. That's why the comparison makes no sense.
