Default Serie A 2013/14

Kicks off today with;

Verona vs Milan - 1700
Sampdoria vs Juventus - 1945

Most expensive deals of the Summer;

Gonzalo Higuain Napoli from Real Madrid 37
Kevin Strootman Roma from PSV Eindhoven 16.5
Mario Gomez Fiorentina from Bayern Munich 15.5
Mehdi Benatia Roma from Udinese 13.5
Angelo Ogbonna Juventus from Torino 13

Really can't see past Juventus winning another title. Not only have they added Ogbonna, but they've also now got Tevez and Llorente up front, which was a major weakness in their last 2 title winning seasons.

Milan have done nothing of note this summer, and Inter are a pretty poor team. Suspect it will be a top three of Juve, Napoli and Milan for the champions league places. Roma will probably challenge the latter two for a spot.

Napoli and Chievo playing now, 2-2 in the first half, good game, shocking defending on both sides

Juve will piss the league.

Reckon they could be a good shout for Europe, too. Very strong squad.

Yup, can't look past La Vecchia Signora for the league, the battle for CL should be interesting though; Inter have good a good coach in Mazzarri, Milan should have a much more stable squad after what happened last pre-season, Napoli have made some good signings and Fiorentina are resurgent too. Not sure about the Rome teams though.

Juventus will walk it, predict both them and Napoli will do fairly decent in Europe also. Ogbonna is a disgrace for moving, he's been receiving fairly serious death threats over it.

They got Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo for a net spend of about £10m.

Compare it to us this summer.

They don't have ewar woowar doing their "dealing" for them. That must help.

TBF I don't think they had to scout Pirlo, pol. Vidal has been an outstanding signing for the price they got him for though. I don't even want to talk about Paulie Pogba. :shakehead:

It just goes to show that if you want to invest in the team instead of paying off a debt, there's real value out there.

Juve have gone from a Serie B mess, to being one of the strongest sides in Europe in just 5 seasons. Bayern have gone from an average club, to the best in the world in 3 seasons. Have United done the same? I would say we've regressed since 2009. We're making record-breaking profits though.
