Default Why did Gary Neville not get a Champions League medal last year?

He was in the 25man squad and played against Roma.

they give these medals out to easy. If you play in the or at a push on the subs bench but squad players no.

What did you do in the final grandad? Did you score .....er no but I was in the squad and came on as a sub for the last 5 minutes against Videoton in the qualifying round

Don't you have to play a certain amount of minutes? I'd be a bit embarrased if I got a medal for getting a run out in a meaningless group game. Like you say stoners, what did you do Gramps, Oh I got ten minutes against Sporting Gujon at home, we were 5-0 up and the only touch I got was when I miscontrolled it and they got a corner. We ended up winning 5-1 I hate you gramps.

I think Neville played 10 mins v Roma at home in our entire Champions League run. Defo deserved a medal imo because he made sure in those 10 mins that Roma didn't score 3 when they looked like doing....

I thought he had got one, the basis of his 10 mins against Roma. more talk here, nothing definitive though. You'd have to ask him if he did get one or why not.

If you are not named in the starting 11 or on the subs bench you shouldnt get a medal IMO

Dunno about that. I think a player that plays in every game but misses out on the final due to injury or suspension deserves one. A player that hasn't kicked a ball or played less than 15mins doesn't. Agree?

whats the point though? Having a medal that you didnt make the final team for, if players were honest they would think I dont deserve this medal because I didnt play in the final. Keane says he doesnt keep his 99 medal with his medals because he didnt play in the final and he was instrumental in us getting to the final

What about his 99 FA Cup Final medal? Does he not keep that with the rest of his medals? He can't say he influenced that game because he only lasted 9mins.

Bit harsh on Park.

Started Roma and Barca games home AND away.

90 minutes all times too if I recall...

Just throwing it out there, know what youre saying though.
