Canít see any problem either

Pop up shops in boarded up shops already happens in a few places so I guess itís just formalising an already useful idea.

Nice to see you back on the path of the many irkles. Not sure about the use of the word Ďcomradeí seems like you are trying to suggest that socialism is the same as communism. We know thatís wrong in the same way that right wing doesnít mean nazism

I missed the articles complaining about this happening already under consecutive conservative prime ministers

Also itís after 12 months of being boarded up and not in use to benefit the whole community which great. Of course they are not actually being given away and will be given back. I guess if you canít move past level 1 of the discussion then just consider the added value to that area and what that would bring by the time the owner can re-open

this.

a lot of the schools in Salford that have been vacated due to relocation to new premises have been moth-balled. so for example, instead of being knocked down they're used as film sets or cheap accommodation - i actually saw my old geography classroom had been turned in to a small bedsit, which was surreal.... the idea is that it keeps the building warm and functioning - avoiding deterioration due to the weather etc and also stops vandalism.

if the landlords can't fill the shop/building, i would assume they'd welcome it being used, and being kept viable secure for when someone else wants to rent it out.

it's a good idea.

Why not buy up the properties in a mass compulsory purchase order, then rent them to suitable businesses at very reasonable rates?

Hipster types could secure a bricks and mortar base for their online businesses. Dilapidated small towns could have a shot at becoming the next Hebden Bridge.

Turning them into LGBTQ drop in centres... not so much.
