[SIZE="4"]Previous Meeting:

Norwich last hosted us at Carrow Road during a much simpler time, on the 27th October 2019. No masks, no social distancing and no Covid-19 (that we knew of). It was fun while it lasted.

It took 21 minutes for the game to spark into life when Andreas Pereira whipped a ball into the box from the right. The ball took a slight deflection of a Norwich player before landing on the foot of Cantwell, who fluffed his touch. This allowed The Scottish Player to bully his way in front of the Norwich player and fire a first time shot on the turn into the far corner.

Just a couple of minutes later we had the chance to double our lead after VAR intervened and awarded a penalty on what did seem like a soft challenge on Daniel James. Rashford stepped up to take the penalty, but had his tame effort saved by Krul.

Not that it mattered too much as just a minute later Rashford found himself alone without a man around him for 20 yards through the middle of the pitch. He was picked out and put through on goal after a lovely ball by Daniel James, Rashford’s first touch was perfect, and his second wasn’t bad either as he megged Krul to double our lead with about 15 minutes still to go to the break.

40 minutes in there was still time for some more drama when Norwich found themselves on the end of another VAR call that didn’t go their way. This time after Cantwell blocked a 20 yard Fred effort with his arms in an unnatural position. Had Cantwell bothered to watch Fred strike any ball from distance, he would’ve known that the only threat he posed would’ve been to big Kev in the stands slipping off for an early half time pie. This time Martial was the chosen one to convert the spot kick. He £#%&!ed it. Struck it better than Rashfords earlier attempt, but still in a good place for Krul to parry away.

Halftime, 0-2 and two missed spot kicks.

We had to wait until the 71st minute for the next big action in the game, and what a bit of action it was. Young won possession back on the halfway line, the ball fell to Rashford who played it to Martia, Martial found Rashford as he made his way into the Norwich area only to be confronted by two Norwich defenders, Rasford plays an inch perfect back heel that takes every Norwich defender out of the game and straight into the path of Martia, Martial bears down at Krul and finishes a wonderful flowing counter attack with a beautiful chip over the dutchman. 0-3.

88 Minutes into the game Norwich managed to nab a consolation goal after The Scottish Player sloppily gave the ball away in midfield. Onel Hernandez pounced on the mistake and drove through the heart of our midfield and backline before firing into De Gea’s near post. Was a great consolation goal, but only a consolation nonetheless.

Match over, 1-3 to United.

[SIZE="4"]Match Tit Bits

Norwich have lost 8 of the last 10 Premier league games against us, including the last three on the bounce. It’s the fourth time they have lost three in a row against us in the Premier League, however they have never lost four in a row against us in the Premier League era.

None of the last 14 league games between us and Norwich at Carrow road have ended with a draw. Out of the 14 games, we have won 9 and lost 5.

We are winless in our last four Premier League games against newly promoted sides (drawing 3 and losing 1). We haven’t gone 5 without a win against newly promoted sides since a run of 7 between January 1992 and January 1993.

Two of Norwich’s last four home games in the league have finished goalless. That’s one more goalless game than in their previous 47 league games at Carrow Road. The two clean sheets earned in those two games is as many as they managed in their previous 26 top flight games.

Norwich have failed to score in 9 Premier League games this season so far, and their tally of 8 goals scored in 15 games is their lowest in their league history. Out of the 17 previous clubs that have managed to equal such a record after 15 games, only three have avoided relegation (Sheff Utd 90-91, Everton 05-06 and Palace 17-18).

I think the opposite bunks. We’ll go at them 100 mile an hour and be 3/4 nil up at half time.

Team for me

De Gea
Dalot — Maguire —- Lindelof —- Shaw
Fredbauer—- The Scottish Player
Sancho — Bruno
Greenwood —- Ronaldo

We need better decision making in that final third. As good as the intensity was against Palace, we didn’t create much.

Early goal would be nice. Play with a bit of freedom.

Would like to see Greenwood start instead of Rashford. Otherwise, same 11 as v Palace.

Theyve gone on through again... And it's three... Gunn can't believe it... And Alex derguson is the calmest man in Carrow road

Shaw is Telles injured?

Norwich are still waiting a number of COVID results as well so could have a few out

If he’s fit he’ll be first choice over Telles every week. Got a feeling Ralf likes him too. Hardly he’s still a much better option than Telles regardless.

Wow. Shaw is not fit enough to high press for 15 mins pal. Even more pressure on full backs in a system like this. Nothing has changed since Ralfs comments about Luke from a year ago. “I know they have Luke Shaw but I’m not so sure if he’s still on the same level that you need to be for a club like Manchester United.”

And as with all of them why should Telles be dropped. He has done ok under Ralf and players should now have to play them out of position.

My memory isn’t what it was but wasn’t Shaw one of our best players last season and England’s best player at the Euros? Mainly based on the running he did? Yes he’s had a shit season but hasn’t everyone so far? We’ll wait and see I suppose.

On the ball City!
Never mind the danger

Love Norwich. 4 happy years at Uni there.

Will be a cagey, tight game.

0-7 - Ronaldo hat trick and Maguire to score a header from the penalty spot.

Unfortunately Shaw is a mental weakling, any kind of problems he encounters he goes right off his game and straight on the burgers. Hopefully he comes good again because his form last season would be ideal for how Rangnick wants to play but at the minute he’s not on it,maybe a few weeks watching Telles sorts him out and he’s back in the team because Telles is a defender that can’t defend

Ok you ve convinced me then. Suppose playing well for 6 months, 9 month ago warrants getting straight back in pal when the replacement has done £#%&! all wrong!

RR should use the team he started with and drill them, esp given the games he has coming around, telling those not interested and who want to move to get in reserves, others you have to play your way back in (or you play your way out). Simples pol
