They’re in the process of changing out that front 3, Mane gone, Firmino going and Origi the fallback option gone. Diaz, Jota and Nunez are the replacements at the moment, surely they can’t be as good? Fair chance they’ll buy another. He’s sorted the defence so that’s ok. Midfield is all getting older though, Henderson, Thiago and Milner all in their 30’s, surely some signs of fatigue

City have change up their forward line substantially too. A lot of onus on Haaland and Foden. Could work perfectly, could stutter and splutter, hopefully.

Chelsea look to be considerably weaker. Spurs look to be considerably stronger. Arsenal have a goal scorer, potentially, and more depth so should be better.

I imagine whoever came up will go back down. Everton, according to my blue uncle, have spent well.
James Tarkowski and some bloke from Sporting on loan?

Arsenal will always be Arsenal for me. Don’t rate arteta as a coach, he started of shit, went ok then went shit again. Seems like when the pressure is on and the going gets tough the team shits the bed.

Ffs Dunk, United battling for 6th?

Not a chance. We have zero Champions League distraction, and a top new manager.

Arsenal have a bang average squad, and Chelsea are a mess.

We have the much worse EL distraction coupled with Thurs/Sun nonsense and about 4 useful attacking players in the whole squad and 3 useful midfielders.

As said, will need reviewing if we add a midfielder and a couple of attackers.

We'll surely play the kids in the Europa, giving the first XI the focus needed on the league.

I see goals in this side, with Sancho, Bruno, Martial and Rashford all improving significantly under Ten Hag.

We'll definitely see a tightening defensively, too. No chance a Ten Hag defence will be worse than the mess we saw under 'Der Gaffer'.

The europa league doesn’t need 4 useful attacking players. It will make the likes VDB look like prime kaka. The likes of savage, Iqbal, VDB, will come into their own .

Eriksen as a back up number 10 too. Can alternate with Bruno. Ideally we get a striker and a CB .

Still need to move some of these shit@#%&!s , baily , Jones, AWB.

We won’t finish 6th.

Likely that Savage and Iqbal go out on loan. We needed useful attacking players when we were en route to semi’s and finals. Unless you fancy flogging 4 forwards across 60 games, as we need to try and win the EL for th CL spot.

Wouldn't a good run in the Europa ensure our coefficient qualified us for CL if we finish 5th or 6th?

Possibly, the rules are changing aren’t they? Either way, we need to have a decent tilt at the EL and maintain a league campaign, currently we have about 8* useful players that aren’t defenders. It’s going to be difficult…

Fred
McT
Eriksen
Bruno
Martial
Rashford
Sancho
Maybe Ronaldo

Very slim pickings.

Everton are an absolute £#%&!ing shambles. Going to get blasted this season NQAT. They manage to one-up McFred by having a CM who had 2 touches in a game last season ... both from kick offs

Some astounding confidence round here given we finished more than 10 points behind each of these sides last season, the midfield by some leap of £#%&!ing magic is currently worse than last season, and all the teams around us have outspent us

We have 2 senior central midfielders at the club 10 days before the start of the season, neither of whom would get into another 10 top side in the league let alone talking about the top 6. Haven't even replaced Pogba & Matic with bodies let alone added improvements as things stand. Away from home 3 times in the first 5 with scousers one of the home games

As I said, we have 2 senior central midfielders at the club 10 days before the start of the season. Neither would make the match day squad for any of the top 6.

You're coming across as spoilt, this is a transitional time for the club and you can't be bringing in 7/8 players each window, if de Jong or another comes off it'll be an excellent window....

Think you need to lower your expectations a little ..

Erik will get a tune out if some of these and his discipline and style will see us get top 4...

We're running with a central midfield line up that wouldn't get a game for West Ham or arguably even Newcastle, Wolves & Villa (Jacob Ramsey is a baller + McGinn>The Scottish Player) - let alone displacing Spurs/Chelsea as some of the sentiment suggests here. How low can the expectations go? Don't think its spoilt to expect the club to replace 2 outgoings in the weakest part of the squad more than 10 days before start of season TBH.

We'll see if FDJ comes then. Meanwhile I'll leave at that & won't derail this thread further.
