A serious midfield, hopefully a top CB, a new right back... you'd hope whoever is there wouldn't ever be as exposed as Dave was but it's a ridiculous assertion.

Very few top sides ever get by without a worldie in nets.

A signing is a signing tbf. One more notch on big ed's bedpost.

Just imagine this dude replaced De Gea though.

Yep. I think we've already done enough to tighten things up considerably, but a top CB would make a top keeper more of a luxury than a neccessity.

Ignoring Cillessen & Romero, if Dave was off, would you take Navas in the deal as mooted Grimmers? Short arse?

I wouldn't be thrilled about it. I think Cillessen has a bigger upside.

Is Romero shit then? Assume he's coming in to replace Valdes and the Dane, what with Johnstone supposedly staying put.

Don't see the point in this signing personally, he's only good enough to be a back-up. We have Lindegaard & Johnstone for that. Lindegaard has been largely great whenever called upon - I can only think he's set to leave and Louis doesn't trust Johnstone yet.

You're £#%&!ing joking. He played some horror shows.

Romero's not great but he's played in a World Cup Final. He can handle his nerves. Not bad to have as a number two. Could use a centre back about now tho.

Lindegaard is £#%&!ing shite.

In the 2012/13 season he had some shocking games in which we lost nearly all of them, let in a shit load of goals as well. Who can forget him letting in 5 against west brom.

The manager won a title with him at Alkmaar. He knows him and trusts that he will fulfill the role he sees for him, which I assume is second choice. Valdes didn't work out and he's probably unimpressed with what he sees of Lindegaard in training, what with his very average shot stopping and almost complete inability to control or pass a football.
