Was 870 million before this window opened. Only thing I'll say is, Mourinho has had a longer period in management and more clubs.

£52m

Obvs it's £#%&! all to them but the football transfer world is £#%&!ed.
They've broken the record for defenders 3 times in less than 12 months. They're obscene bastards

Quote:
Benjamin Mendy has completed his £52m transfer from Monanco to Manchester City to become the world's most expensive defender.

The 23-year-old France left-back has signed a five-year deal with the club.

Mendy is City's fifth major signing of the summer and takes their spending to more than £200m.

"He is undoubtedly one of the world's best full-backs, our number one target in this position," said director of football Txiki Begiristain.

Mendy played 34 times for Monaco last season and helped them to their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years after joining them from Marseille last summer,

He is the Premier League club's fifth major signing of the summer following the recruitment of England international Kyle Walker (£45m), Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva (£43m), Brazilian keeper Ederson Moraes (£35m) and defender Danilo from Real Madrid (£26.5m).

Not sure, nobody knows or understands what FFP is, including UEFA.

Think they are in a better place after Qatari Umbrellas sponsored their new changing room toilet for £100bn a year.

They'll piss it. Etihad will suddenly decide to sponsor one exec box at the stadium for 450 million and there you go. Its through the books as commercial revenue. FFP is a farce, its utterly unenforceable.

It's all to do with amortisation

Mendy's purchase and salary are spread over the contract period. May also depend on how the initial fee is structured. Assume Wages of 200k pw then its around £50 m transfer + £50m in wages = 100m which is £20m per year so doesn't look so bad especially when all the wages of the stiffs have gone. If you can increase revenue by say £100m you can afford these deals but if revenue stalls or decreases you're £#%&!ed.

Out of City's 8 main sponsors, 4 of them are based in Abu Dhabi and have ties to the Al Nayhan ruling family.

The people that own them, own the airline on their shirt sponsor, it's such a transparent £#%&!ing sham.

Etihad Airways (owned by the royal family), The Abu Dhabi tourist board, Etisalat (an abu dhabi based telephone network) and Aabar an abu dhabi based investment firm..

Such deals don't count towards income considered by FFP.

They're probably reducing the overall wage bill to help spread the cost, but it's still crazy money and they're not finished.
