They'll sign another sponsorship deal with a 'not at all dodgy' Abu Dhabi based firm and that'll balance the books.

I said i'd be surprised if they didn't spend well over £300m and they're already now touching £200m. It'll be 230 if they sign that Danilo bloke as well.
Their defence will cost more than most club's entire squads.

Guardiola is such a £#%&!ing transparent fraud, the first time in his entire career he hasn't got a squad full of world champion footballers to manage and he can't possibly be expected to deliver any trophies unless he spends £500m in two transfer windows. Because, you know, his philosophy is so cutting edge, so utterly genius that it can't possibly be taught to anyone in training sessions.

Anything other than winning the league by a mile this season will be total failure for them.
Would like to hear more from his fawning acolytes on here. Bunch of Einsteins...

Not half the manager Mourinho is and nowhere £#%&!ing near the greatness of Ferguson. His man management skills have long since been exposed. He has no staying power at clubs - despite a wealth of resources and goodwill. Promoting youth? Nope.

So what's left, tactics? Apparently he can't coach defenders or goalkeepers. Not exactly the most rounded of coaches is he?

They do need the players. But the money being spent is verging on embarrassing.

The market was always likely to skyrocket. But if you spend £300m and win the league, who really cares. Feels like a fairly hollow achievement.

I wouldn't give a flying £#%&! if we spent £300m and won the league....

Ballooning around worrying about digital money Mendy by the way could be worth every penny of that, a class player...

I'd take him over Shaw / darmain / some other Sap

And if they don't win it now, they will look more hollow and pathetic than ever. Fingers crossed.......

He and Sidibe did look immense for them last year. And City have sorted their full back problem.

But for me it's still fairly hollow to do it like this. Although the way other English clubs are spending I suppose it's fair game.

Pep is taking pressure off Mou with this spending. Not even sure the title alone will be enough after this level of outlay.

Sometimes wonder if people forget what it feels like to win the league..
Of course a £#%&!y £300m doesn't matter.
Winning the league is an utter buzz

What's the spend, over £300m, and when Gundogan invariably gets injured it'll still be Fernandinho/Silva/Toure in central midfield?

This spend has been on the cards at City for years when they kept buying old. Horrifically run club.

Well from a purist p.o.v Spurs winning the league would be the most appreciated. Haven't spent a penny so far in the window but you don't need to spend to improve all the time. Current players can continue to get better and better. They're young enough too and already progressed quickly in two years.

But a) it won't happen b) purists live in a dream world and c) the team who wins the league won't give a shit what others think no matter how hollow it is

Football's always been fickle and the double standards of point c doesn't need saying. People complain about the value years but it only cements how £#%&!ing legendary Fergie was to keep winning most trophies in sight while now having a line up the gdp of tonga may not even make top 4.
