I'd say they're a reflection of how shit the league is and how you can win it with a bit of momentum and everyone else's arses falling out. Liverpool also came from seventh to be neck and neck with Chelsea at Christmas. As they did in 2014.

There's no anomalies, because there's been no norms since we last won the league.

And we're talking about being in the race, not necessarily winning it.

Oh, and finally - you're not a realist. If you were a realist, you wouldn't predict we'd lose every single week. You're negative.

I only think it matters generally if you're appallingly bad. Good pre-season results/performances don't tend to mean much, but if you look all over the place pre-season it's usually not a great sign of preparation.
