Always thought he'd do well at somewhere like Everton, he needs somewhere where chances are created.... be interesting to see how he fares week in week out.

He is not good enough to start consistently for a major team. Goals alone are not enough.

Utd still should have kept him for another year or 2, phased that squad out gradually rather than dump them all at once,.

Leverkusen was the first time in his European career that he nailed a first choice spot down. And the goal return was good, yet he was getting stick last year as the team floundered and the highly regarded coach was sacked. Did they regress as a team with him? It's no good having that limited poacher if he renders the rest of the side predictable and pedestrian.

Agree, although after a year bench warming at Madrid I think he wanted to be somewhere he'd at last have a chance of nailing down the spot. Was never going to happen here. Should have made him wait another six months though maybe.
