Good.
£#%&! off. Not the worst of a bad bunch, but nicely sums up the drop in standards in recent years. What has this guy done in five years? Had about 10 good games. Now he wants £200k a week. Well, I'm glad the club hasn't bowed and is willing to cut their losses. They need rid of the likes of him and about 15 others. No new deals. No incentives. Either play for the club or £#%&! off. We need more of this. We need that wage bill t#@&%!. We need new deals to actually reflect a players value and show that you don't just get a brand new deal regardless of how you perform. I'd happily let these idiots contracts all run down if if means getting rid of them. I might not make sound financial sense in the short term, but when the club finishes 6th again next season with an astronomical wage bill... This is the gutting out and starting again. |

He's not good enough for us if you're comparing against what we expect (Keane, Scholes, Veron), but he is more than good enough compared to the shit we have now, and could have been a key squad player for us next season, so it's disappointing we've let him leave while so far keeping 10 or 15 players far shitter than him. An "average" player like him will cost £50m + to replace. Thanks |

Good squad player but no way could we match the ridiculous wages he was offered else where. Bye. |

He's been here five years. He's a spirited guy, but he's been bang average for the time he's been here. We shouldn't be comparing him with a bygone era or even what we have now, because what we have now isn't good enough. Just because he shouldn't be first out the door, doesn't mean he isn't also part of the problem. He needs to leave and they all need to leave too. He's not the poster boy for our failings, but he's not a solution either. The upshot is that he isn't worth what he wanted and he isn't someone who will take us forward. We should be selling the majority of these players, not rewarding them with bumper deals. If it's between giving them a new deal so we can sell them in years for a fee or letting them go and getting them off the wage bill and getting fresh blood in, I'll take the latter. Average player. See ya. |
